No Use High

Cast members in Dasepo Naughty Girls (2006).

This number is the opening credits of a South Korean movie about a girl with poverty on her back who is forced into prostitution with a cross-dresser who wants to giggle and talk about the newest idols. She is in love with the son of a rich Swiss family who in turn is in love with the trans gender brother/sister of the sole virgin in the class, the cyclops. Plus a lot more mayhem. Find it if you can! Dasepo Sonyo is the Korean title.

The Time Warp

Richard O'Brien & Cast from the Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Almost ruined by the cult movie phenomenon, The Rocky Horror Picture show is a great capsulization of Rock & Roll with a Glam focus disguised as a shlocko horror movie. It's a fantastic piece of work, & it's a shame about its following. Richard O'Brien as the hunchback Riff Raff is also fantastic in the 80s BBC series Robin of Sherwood, which if you haven't seen, you HAVE to.

Sunshine

The Archies doing Sunshine on Archie's Funhouse, 1970. Band assembled by Don Kirshner.
The most whole conception of bubblegum music is to have a cartoon band with the largest circulation of records being cardboard singles issued on the backs of cereal boxes.

Can You Picture That?

The Electric Mayhem with Kermit & Fozzie from the Muppet Movie (1979). Jim Henson as Dr. Teeth & Kermit. Frank Oz as Fozzie. Jerry Nelson as Floyd. Music & Lyrics by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher.

There are great songs throughout the majority of the early Jim Henson output. At some point in the 80s all of these people seem to have lost their footing & the product becomes boring & irrelevant.

The Lumberjack Song

I love when TV shows feature musical numbers as long as they're done right. Monty Python here, segues from the Homicidal Barber sketch to the Lumberjack Song. Palin's knee-slapping, gum chewing delivery is perfect.

Speak Easy

Jodie Foster, Scott Baio & a bunch of other kids in Bugsy Malone (1976). Music by Paul Williams. Man, a whole week of musicals in Chicago? I don't even know if this one takes place in Chicago, it could be New York, it could be an imaginary city. Either way, the obvious choice is that musical Chicago, but, i haven't seen it! Ha ha. Bugsy Malone is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time, so it doesn't matter.
