Goldfinger

Shirley Bassey sings the title theme from Goldfinger (1964). Composed by John Barry and with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, produced by George Martin. Not quite a musical number, but one of my favorite songs from a movie.

Toxic Love

Tim Curry in FernGully: The Last Rainforest, 1992.

The single oasis of performing excellence in an otherwise melancholy tale of quixotic environmentalism, brought to you by Guilt Cinemas Inc. Okay, Tone Loc was alright too.

The Never Ending Story

Limahl of Kajagoogoo doing the title Giorgio Moroder tune from the German "Never Ending Story", 1984. Known in Germany as "Die dampfende Haufen". This song is better than the entire movie! Also, fuck this movie for giving me existencialist crises at age 8, "The Nothing"... the entire dimension being destroyed, no thanks! Notice that most of the children's fantasy movies of this period involve giant cataclysms & prophecies... Dark Crystal, Time Bandits, Legend, the Last Unicorn & um... the Never Ending Story. Thus implanting the concept of imminent doom into my generation & selling them on the carbon tax, the Mayan calendar & a messianic president.

You and Me

Tiffany in Jetsons: The Movie, 1990.

There is not a single song in this movie that hasn't at one time or another broken me out in a rash, lowered my t-cell count, impregnated my cat, and pissed in my Cheerios. So why post it? Because I hate you. So very much.

But seriously, I like Yellow Submarine in the 90's.

Potiphar

Maria Friedman, Donny Osmond, Joan Collins, Ian McNeice & cast in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999).

If the whole movie was like this number, it would be amazing. Unfortunately, it is not. This is the highlight of the movie and the rest is awful.
