Furry Happy Monsters

REM, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, & cast on episode #3844 of Sesame Street, 1999.

Apparently Michael Stipe wrote it as an ironic criticism to Chinese propaganda and the Tiananmen Square incident. Turns out he doesn't like the song much.

SUBWAY!

The Muppets on episode 666 of Sesame Street (1974)
Kids media is usually the most music saturated of all media output, but most of the songs are such crap these days. Early period Sesame Street is a total exception, with a real quality group of song-writers & performers doing the numbers.

School's Out

Alice Cooper & the Muppets gang on the Muppet Show (1978) The Muppet Show introduced me to Alice Cooper & insured his status as cool in my book. This is a great argument for sitting on the fence between shock & show business, Alice Cooper keeps it all just nice enough to be able to go on a show that has a 50% kids audience like the Muppet Show, but is also creepy & rock & roll enough to be cool. You couldn't say that about someone like Marilyn Manson who just goes too far, even though he's probably more commercial than Alice Cooper was (weird!).
