RIP Michael Jackson
We don't normally post straight music videos around here, but today is an obvious exception.
Blame It On The Boogie by The Jacksons (miscredited on You Tube) off the 1978 Destiny album. This was my first favorite song, when I was four years old (and still one of my all time favorites).
And in my opinion, this is still the greatest music video ever made: Thriller

Ride of the Valkyries
Cast of Apocalypse Now (1979).
This is a bit of a stretch, as no cast member is performing, but the music itself is an important piece of the story, a part of the internal reality of the movie, and not just score superimposed on top of it.
It's also an epic piece of film-making, and you really can't go wrong with Wagner, can you?

Skumps
Taylor Holmes and Bill Thompson in Sleeping Beauty (1959).
This was always my second favorite part of the movie, only to be beaten by the magical house cleaning earlier in the film. I have a thing for animated baked goods.

Brotherly Love
Mae Questel (Olive Oyl) and Jack Mercer (Popeye) in Brotherly Love (1936).
A little bit of a stretch, but a lot of the old Fleischer Popeye cartoons feature musical numbers. I particularly like this one.

Drink Gypsy
Danny Kaye & cast in The Inspector General (1949).
Note: Danny Kaye's wine is poisoned, that's why the group of men is on edge every time he almost drinks it.
The last 30 seconds of the song are cut off in the video, so click the 13/14 link at the end if you want to see it.

Minnie The Moocher
Stephanie posted Cab Calloway yesterday, so here's more. Unfortunately this is another "embedding disabled by request" video, but here's my favorite version of Cab Calloway's famous song:

Jumpin' Jive
Cab Calloway, his band, and the Nicholas Brothers in Stormy Weather (1943).
Now, I adore Cab Calloway, but it's the Nicholas Brothers who blow my mind in this clip (particularly at 4:00).
